Science for Nature Foundation (SNF)

The Science for Nature Foundation (SNF) is a non-governmental organization working in public interest. The Foundation’s objectives encompass environmental restoration and protection, employing scientific methodologies and approaches. It engages in a diverse range of activities, centred around safeguarding biodiversity, promoting sustainable management of natural resources, enhancing scientific expertise, assessing ecosystem services, addressing climate change adaptation, and conducting awareness-raising initiatives.

SNF team includes experts with proven experience in project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement. The team has the knowledge in scientific approaches and best practices in species and habitats protection and conservation activities, risk assessment and prevention of natural disturbances, climate change mitigation and adaptation. The SNF team is experienced in forging enduring partnerships with diverse stakeholders, ranging from local communities to governments, academic institutions, and like-minded NGOs, fostering an inclusive and collaborative approach to nature conservation.

SNF has profound experience in different kinds of dissemination and communication affairs including distribution of information materials and digital content. SNF shares a lot of popular scientific information on its Facebook page and website. SNF is also experienced in delivering different capacity building activities. SNF organizes and implements the “Bat Night” campaigns in Bulgaria for several years now as part of the implementation of the ongoing project LIFE17 NAT/BG/000602: “Bats and men – Sharing LIFE under one roof”. Series of educational lectures and field training have been conducted during the campaigns involving big audiences and gaining many followers, incl. volunteers for different activities and events.

All the above information substantiates SNF relevant experience in LIFE project management and implementation. It reassures the SNF organisational capability to mediate between different stakeholders and build fruitful partnerships among them. SNF has built strong relationships with the scientific community in the field of nature ecosystems, biodiversity and forestry which would be useful in implementing stages of the project.
