Launch Announcement (Dec 19th, 2025)

We are pleased to announce the launch of LIFE LULUCF ATLAS, a European project addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation in Greece and Bulgaria by improving governance in the land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector.

The project brings together 7 partners from universities (National Technical University of Athens-NTUA, Democritus University of Thrace-DUTH, University of Patras-UPATRAS), research and public organizations (Hellenic Centre for Marine Research-HCMR, Hellenic Agricultural Organization-ELGO-DIMITRA, Science for Nature-SNF), and SME (HOMEOTECH) and 2 national public authorities (Ministry of Environment and Energy GR-MEEN, Executive Environment Agency-BG-ExEA), to enhance the monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) system for the nation’s GHG reporting, in line with EU Regulation 2018/841, 2018/1999 and 2023/839.

We look forward to collaborating across the consortium to deliver impact at European level.

The project kick-off meeting will take place in Athens on 30 January 2026.
